Holidays in Brisbane, Queensland
|

Holidays in Brisbane whilst popular do not get as much acclaim as holidays at the traditional Queensland tourist spots of the Gold or Sunshine Coasts. However, it is actually possible to have the best of both worlds. A holiday in Brisbane and yet still a seaside holiday also.
Manly and Wynnum are seaside suburbs of Brisbane which have the beachside holiday atmosphere including plenty of water activities.
These eastern Brisbane beachside suburbs are protected by Moreton and Stradbroke Islands providing a calm expansive waterway perfect for sailing, fishing and other water and boating activities.
The advantage of staying in Manly (an eastern suburb of Brisbane) is that you can have a relaxing seaside holiday and yet be only a 30 minute drive to the heart of the Brisbane CBD.
There is however a trade-off. Manly and Wynnum do not have the large sandy beaches of the Gold or Sunshine Coasts. There is plenty of water, water views and swimming and boating etc, but no surfing waves and only a few bayside beaches in which to make sandcastles.
When weighing up the pros and cons Manly and Wynnum do score rather well providing a mix of beachside activities as well as many location advantages.
